We are not only a family dentistry clinic but we are also quite literally a family of dental professionals.

In 1971, Donald Bland and his wife, Mary Findlay, moved to the Sunshine Coast and after working in other offices, they built and opened A Smart Smile Dentisty. Over the years they have served Gibsons with compassion and are proud to have supported the community outside of work as well. They especially supported the arts and sporting programs and events along the coast with financial contributions and their own attendance. They are also proud to have raised three wonderful children in Gibsons. One of which, is also a dentist at the clinic, Dr. Emery Bland.

Dr. Don Bland retired in 2020 but he now spends his spare time volunteering in the Downtown East Side. Mary continues to work at the clinic and also works for Vancouver Coastal Health. Dr. Emery Bland has taken over managing the clinic and his wife, Genelle Bland, also works with us as a Dental Hygienist.

Although the original Dr. Bland has retired, our practice is still deeply rooted in his same desire to provide a safe, relaxed, comfortable, and trusting environment for you and your loved ones.
